Having recovered from an emotional breakdown and infidelity, college professor Ben Marshall and his family decide to relocate to the country for a fresh start. However, he starts finding himself plagued by haunted visions and hears persistent noises in their large country house. Ben becomes convinced a murder took place in the house and/or surrounding area. He becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind it to protect his family who he believes is in great danger
